The Mask That Changed Everything
Only within the last year have I really used face masks. Prior to this, I never really got them and couldn't understand what benefits they could bring to my skin. A few months back, when my skin decided to go wild, I looked towards masks to help sort things out and Mask of Magnaminty was purchased.
Mask of Magniminty is a face and body mask from Lush - the best place in the world! I was so happy to see they have now brought out 'self-preserving' ranges now, I do love Lush but part of the reason I never wanted to purchase anything other than bath bombs was because all masks had short use-by dates and I knew I would never get around to using them within set time. The mask is peppermint scented (oh yes, appreciate that first) and it does everything humanly possible to destroy break-outs and eruptions on your skin. My chin is always a problem area for spots - my mum and dad like to remind me how much I slobbered down my chin as a child, to the point I had to wear a bib with absolutely everything, chic! I blame this for the sensitivity around there. Whenever I have a breakout or can feel one coming on, I pull this out and apply it all over my face, leave it to soak in for around 10 minutes and then just rinse off. Not only is it instantly refreshing, it leaves my skin feeling super soft!
It has very soft, almost exfoliating, beads in the formula which really get rid of all the crap lying underneath! For me this is perfect if you suffer; open pores, blemishes, redness (it significantly reduces after any use), exfolites and for any sensitive ladies out there, it is deemed gentle enough for use as well. I only use this mask once a week, I am one of those lucky buggers who's skin in mostly clear (sorry) but if I am having a hormonal breakout or feel an eruption about to come to the surface I maybe up the anty to twice.
You can purchase this in both large or small from (here), I personally purchased the small first so I could try it out and see how I got on but as soon as this finishes (FYI, i've had the small for months) I will surely be popping to my local to pick up it's big sister!
Do you love any Lush masks?

The New Morning Routine
It is insanely hard trying to find the right skincare routine. Every brand now offers copious amounts of moisturisers, serums, eye creams and it's pretty daunting on knowing where to start, never mind what will actually work for you. My first piece of advice is to actually listen to your skin and work out what it needs. From working on a counter I know first hand that every claims to be either 'oily' or 'dry', are you really though? If you would like a break-down of skin types then please let me know, this may help a lot of people out there who aren't entirely sure. I personally am mostly normal but occasionally dehydrated - not dry, dehydrated. What I have found is that I was applying far too much onto my skin that not only took forever in the morning, it really wasn't working for me and was actually making my skin work. I have now stripped everything back and have quite a basic routine.
First up, cleanse. I prefer a balm/ cleansing oil type for this and do use different ones day and night. For the morning I love to use Clinique 'Take the Day Off' Balm which I have used for almost a year now, this is my third tub - love the stuff! This could be used at night as it also removes makeup, but I like the feel for the morning to wipe off any excess dirt and oils from the previous nights sleep. To apply, take a small blob, rub into face - including eye area, take a flannel or muslin cloth and wash off.
I then move onto a face wash. Clarins Wake-Up Booster is what I have been using recently, would I say it's wow factor? No, but it is nice enough and refreshing for the morning. This too is a cleansing wash and could be used as first in your routine. I am not a fan of foaming face washes, each to their own but wouldn't recommend. Personally, they strip my skin and I believe that's what caused the change in my skin in the first place! This says on the website 'foaming' but it's definitely not, it has a gel consistency which I just pop onto my hands, rub into skin and again remove with flannel.
Where I used to tone, I no longer do. I honestly feel like toner is just flavoured water and does nothing for the skin. I use a Clarins one at night after my make-up remover to take off any remaining makeup that may still be hanging about, and that is it! Instead, I go pop on a pump of Clarins Cleansing Milk, the salon sizes are absolutely amazing value and has lasted me a whole year! One pump, and apply to the face and I just leave it, you can also tissue off but I love the extra hydration. I have used this product consistently for over a year now and won't remove it from my routine. Ever.
Now that the face is thoroughly washed and cleansed I move onto the good stuff. First up eye cream. How many of us apply serum and/or moisturiser first? The reason for applying eye cream first is due to it being the thinnest layer of skin and so applying any products first creates a barrier, which makes it harder to get to the source. This will also make a heavier moisturiser and could cause puffiness. Moral of the story? Apply eye cream first! I love Benefit's It's Potent Eye Cream. It contains Burnett, a Chinese remedy, which helps with smoothing out any unwanted lines and wrinkles and also Cocoa Extract to counteract against darkness - exactly what I need!
Then to serum, Serum is so incredibly important and I feel everyone really should invest in one. This is the only skin we get so please respect it! I was using Benefit's which I do love but have recently moved onto Clarins Double Serum for daytime. I do like it, it leaves my skin feeling refreshed, plumped and smells gorgeous but I have found that it runs out really quickly and I only use one pump of it in the morning. Not impressed with that considering the price tag! I haven't yet found my perfect serum so any recommendations are welcome.
Then last but certainly not least I apply moisturiser and my choice goes to Clinique Moisture Surge Intense. I cannot recommend this moisturiser enough to anyone who suffers from dry and/or dehydrated skin. This is what I believe to have seriously helped in taking away that tightness to my skin. It contains Olive Extract which allows the skin to retain moisture making it much healthier! Especially good during the colder months when our skin needs extra moisture!
There we have it, my morning routine! It may seems loads to other people but it's really not, it takes me 10 minutes tops and it is so, unbelievably important to not only have a skincare routine but to get the right one for you! We have all wasted money on products that have sat in our drawers so please get a sample first.
Are you a fan of any of the above products?

Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Review
Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation £31 (here)
If I was told I could only have one foundation in my collection to do me for the rest of my life it would, hands down, no questions asked, be Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation. I have, no word of a lie, went through about eight bottles of this stuff and every time I always question myself to why I ever left it in the first place?
Bobbi Brown was my first high end brand so I guess there it holds a special part in my heart. The first time I used it was when I was around sixteen, I was roped into helping a friend at a wedding show catwalk (child bride?) and the artist was from Bobbi Brown. Most of, if not all, of her kit was Bobbi Brown and so my love affair began. A week or so later I popped into town with my Mum and Dad, got matched up - not that it's hard, I'm always Alabaster! - and ended up leaving with my first ever high end (and properly matched) foundation and blusher. Really my parents encouraged this unhealthy, expensive hobby!
From then on I've been through copious bottles of the stuff and here's why I keep coming back for more. The formula is so lightweight and there is never any sign of cakiness. For those among us who love a full coverage then I would suggest looking elsewhere, but for anyone who loves a good tinted moisturiser or sheer to medium coverage then get yourself along to your nearest counter. A gorgeous dewy finish with a comfortable feel on the skin. When my skin began to react to the colder, harsher weather I struggled to find anything that didn't cling to my skin. Hidden within my stash I pulled out this old favourite, the loyal one that is always there but constantly gets overlooked and bang! I fell hook, line and sinker back in love.
Easy to blend and containing an SPF 15 it is the perfect foundation for day to day wear. Also, any brides out there looking for a gorgeous, natural finish on their big day, I would highly recommend going for a trial. Coming in a vast range of twelve different shades there is certainly something in there for anyone. This is suitable for anyone with dehydrated, dry and/or normal skin types this will be ideal! For those oilier types I'm not sure this dewy finish would be right for you.
Are you a lover of Bobbi Brown?

Mother's Day at Lush
Recently I was invited along to a sneak preview of the new Mother's Day range at Lush Cosmetics in Livingston. I'm not one to go to events unless they are really up my street and let's be honest, Lush is way up there with one of my favourite shops - ever. The range launched on Friday 6th of February, so it will be out now, and hopefully this post will give you some inspiration on treating your Mum.... or even yourself!
Firstly, when we arrived we were shown the whole range which includes two new bubble bars Ultraviolet and Mother Superior (particularly amusing), some bath bombs including Secret Garden and Rose Bombshell. I'm absolutely in love with the latter bomb as Rose Queen is one of my favourite bombs from Lush in general - will never take the place of my beloved Cinders though! The range also includes a gorgeous body conditioner and shower gel named 'Yummy Mummy', how apt? That is made with a blend of seaweed extract to allow silky smooth skin! The range also includes gift sets with the products inside, perfect for a gift on such a special day.
The night however, wasn't all about the new range, we also got to create our own products as well as learn more about the make-up range - something I had never previously heard of at Lush. They include everything from foundation to liquid bronzer right through to many different coloured liquid liners and lipsticks. The story behind each colour is fascinating and knowing that each one represents a different emotion was quite exciting.
Had such a great experience at the Lush store in Livingston and a big thank you to the wonderful staff who made everyone feel very at home in store. The Mother's Day range is absolutely gorgeous and I don't think anyone would complain getting some Lush goodies for the special day so be sure to pop along, even if it's for a whiff of the new products, they are all on sale now!

New Release: Benefit Puff Off!
Puff Off £22.50 (here)
Today I come to you with a brand new release due to launch on Saturday 31st of January - or can be found online now - and it comes in the form of Puff Off - not to be confused with an insult! Puff Off is an under-eye gel which helps with puffiness and/or darkness around the eye. To me, it is almost a skincare/ makeup hybrid and can be applied over or under makeup (I've tried both). My personal preference is actually before as it's gel formula makes it feel almost like a primer and allows any concealer to sit beautifully throughout the day.
Firstly, lets all take a second to (once again) congratulate Benefit on their innovative packaging. If ever there was a prize for cutest products , Benefit would win it with no fear of competition. The biggest selling point for this new launch is it's iron-shaped tip, exclusive to Benefit. It is the perfect size and shape to get right into the corner of your eye and allows you to smooth out any unwanted fine lines there too! Not only the size and shape but it is absolutely freezing cold which is ideal to blast away those puffies! For extra effect, pop it into the fridge at night.
It comes out in a translucent peach tone which is suitable for all skin tones. You just smooth the product under the eye area (first few times I used it I squeezed far too much - we will all learn!) and pat in any excess with my ring finger. It also allows light reflecting particles to shine through and give an instant lift, so for any of you sufferers of dark circles (like me) then this gives you that illusion of a full nights sleep!
This has been a welcome edition to my routine, it's cooling iron tip is very enjoyable to my grumpy eyes in the morning. As previously stated, I love to apply this just before my makeup, but if you feel you need a perk up throughout the day then certainly pop some above makeup for an instant lift!
Will you be trying Puff Off?

Worth The Splurge: Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream
Let's get down to business - if you don't have this product in your life then you better run to your nearest counter! This is cult for a reason. Over the last few months I have seen a dramatic change in my skin, I went from normal to dehydrated within nanoseconds. Having to change all of my skincare to cater for my new found skin type was a hard task, I've never had dehydrated skin before so where to start?
Firstly, the thing that was really getting to me, was constant dry lips. Not even chapped - just dry. This product has been my absolute saviour. It's one that gets overlooked regularly but, trust me when I say, having a tube of this in your drawers for emergency situations is a must. I know a lot of people complain about the scent but in all honestly, I don't even notice it. Although this worked wonders on my old lips this is not just a one trick pony. Let me tell you the varied ways to use this skincare classic.
Skin Saviour: Looking for an intensive moisturiser for the colder months? Eight Hour Cream is an ideal moisturiser to use in extremely cold weather (much like the weather these last few weeks). It is also perfect if you work in an environment that has central heating/ air conditioning, helping to fight skin dehydration.
Highlighter: Looking to add a little bit of glow back into that dull complexion? Add a dab of this to the highest points of your cheekbones, lips, brows or even legs for some extra shine!
Taming Your Brows: Do you suffer from unruly brows? I certainly do! Using a hard angled brush, pop a tiny amount on the brush and smooth over brows to keep them in place whilst giving a gorgeous defined arch - what's not to love?
Cuticle Conditioner: Pretty self-explanatory this one but smooth a little of Eight Hour Cream over your cuticles to keep them smooth. You want to make the most of that beautiful manicure.
After-Sun: The whole reason I discovered this gem in the first place - an after sun! The moisturising treatment helps to relieve sunburn and irritated skin. You can dump half the products you were taking in that suitcase and just take the one!
Lip Nourisher: As previously stated, EH helps to condition and heal dry lips. I personally apply this at night, before bed, to allow it to really absorb in and work its magic. Lips are left feeling soft with a slight glossy finish!
Feet Treat: If you are a sufferer of cracked heels then apply this before bed, pop on a pair of socks and voila! by the time you wake, your feet will be party ready!
Hand Food: As with your feet, EH Cream can also be used as a nourishing hand cream. This can heal even the toughest and driest of hands!
The list goes on and on and on...but if that isn't enough reason to go and grab yourself a tube, I don't know what is! You can get your hands on a 50ml tube from Boots (here) for a whole £26. This isn't just a winter staple for me, it's an all year round classic!
Are you a fan of Eight Hour Cream?

Oh Hi!
Hey there strangers!
Yes, I know it has been a while. I have no other excuse other than changing job and trying to find my feet there - Juggling time and cramming everything into it is an artform I have yet to master! So here is a little update on life. Finally feel like things are slotting into place and feeling much more confident in myself. Getting back into blogging is very exciting for me as I have missed it loads and, in actual fact, a lot of you guys seem to have missed my musings too! Hoorah! I don't want to commit to any set days as yet. My days off change from week to week and it wouldn't be fair to you guys, or myself, to give a definitive posting schedule. Back to the days where it was as and when I feel inspired! That way, I can create content that I love and know you'll love too but not feel pressured into a timescale.
Will be keeping with beauty and fashion, considering popping some recipes in too as I have become quite the chef in the house now! Don't get me wrong, I'm no Nigella, but I can make a good risotto - that is a skill in itself! If foodie posts are something you would like to see then please pop a comment below and let me know. I'm also feeling much better in terms of skincare and finally feel like I have nailed my skincare routine (for the time being) and it's the best it has looked in a while! So expect to see lots of product reviews coming your way.
Thank you all for baring with me on my sabbatical! I can only promise it will get better from here on out!

Mac Correct and Conceal Palette | Review
Out of all of the Mac products I have ever purchased, I must say, this has to be up there as one of my absolute favourites. Having been eyeing this beauty up for a while, I finally took the plunge and can safely say I have no regrets. The palette contains everything you could ever need from concealer. From the Salmon Pink shade (bottom right) to help counter act from dark circles, to the yellow shade (bottom left) to help highlight or counter against any redness on the skin.
I am still playing around with the two middle shades which seem to be providing me with a very subtle contour colour - for days when I don't have time to go all Kim Kardashian! The top two shades are obviously the most used. Your typical, everyday concealer. I tend to use NW15 (top right) for undereye circles to match the pink shade and help defuse the horrific bags! Then NC15 (top left) for spots, blemishes or any other areas needing some extra coverage.
The formula is extremely creamy making them perfectly blendable. I use a small lip brush to apply the product to my face wherever it is needed (most places) and then blend out with a concealer brush. I find a little creasing under the eye area, I get it with all concealers, but find this gives the least out of every concealer I've ever tried - and I've tried a fair few! The packaging is very sleek and compact, very easy to cart around with you with every shade in the one place!
This palette is ideal for anyone who's skin tone may change throughout the year. You can mix shades together to find that perfect colour. Unfortunately for me, I am not one of those lucky souls who take a good tan, I stay incredibly white (maybe a little reddish from time to time) so this would be perfect to tide you over all year round!

#BrowGame
I get asked nearly everyday how I do my brows. It's only over the last few months that they have really came into their own and I am finally happy with their shape and width. Brows are an extremely important part to the face - well, my face anyway. The add instant shape to my overall face-shape adding a defined brow can give and instant eye and cheek lift as well as slim the nose. Benefit, for me, are completely on point when it comes to brow products, I mean, they are number one. Through lots of trial and error, I've finally found three products which work as the perfect trio to bring my #BrowGame.
First off, I apply 'Gimme Brow' to my eyebrows. This tiny bottle is my saviour. The fibres of the brush latch onto the hair you have already and add volume and shape to your brow, as well as a little colour. I can see why it is loved by many a Granny. Everyone is now after fuller, thicker looking brows a-la Cara Delevingne. However, back in the day, everyone had over-plucked, thin lines (we've all been there!). This is perfect for those of you looking for something quick and effortless in the morning, a very natural brow. For me, there isn't enough definition and anytime I try to leave it just there, I always find i'm reaching for my 'BrowZings' kit within 10 minutes.
Ah, my good friend 'BrowZings'. These kits are the business - seriously! I've had mine since last September and you can see from the photo above that it looks hardly touched. Trust me when I say it has, I use it everyday! I switch between the Light and Medium palette, depending on how dark/light my hair looks and how defined I want them. Using a hard angle brush, I tap a little of the wax then powder and apply this on top of the 'Gimme Brow' from the high arch point. I try to leave the start of the brow with as little product as possible to give a gradient/ natural effect. I usually elongate the end and have my finishing point at the edge of my eye. I find that is you use this above the 'Gimme Brow' you use less product and avoid any form of Scouse Brows - Not. A. Good. Look. Ladies.
To finish off I use my favourite and completely underrated 'High Brow'. A bright white pencil that I apply under the arch to really exaggerate my arch. I wasn't blessed with high-rising brows so mine have to be make-shift. A white eye-shadow or a lighter shade of concealer can both work just as well, I personally just love this pencil and don't feel my brows are complete without it. You can also use this in your tear-ducts to create brighter, whiter eyes!
So there we have it - the secret to my brows! Are you a fan of any of these products? Or are there any others you would recommend?

Skincare Routine | Serums
We have all heard of serums. Almost every brand, if not all, have one but how many of us actually understand them and their purpose? Probably not a lot! Serum helps to preserve your youthful skin and works from the inside out. It acts as a booster to the rest of your skincare routine i.e applying this before moisturiser, eye cream etc helps them to really lock in and work their magic. To some, it may not seem like such an important step but ever since I started using serum it has made such a difference to my skin. It looks fuller, healthier and is the best my skin has ever looked. Most serums come in at ridiculous prices ranging from £70 up. The two of my preferred products both come in under the price of one. Here are the two which I use personally and have done religiously for the last however many months. I find that these two work best for me and I finally feel I have used them long enough to give you all an honest report.
Morning - Benefit Instant Comback Serum £36
I look for an instant boost in the morning, something to help waken up my tired skin. Benefit's Instant Comeback Serum works wonders for me. Not only does the fresh cucumber scent give a burst of energy it also provides an instant radiance and glow. Containing the infamous Tri-Radiance Complex (exclusive to Benefit) it helps to lock in the moisture. This is also deemed as an anti-aging product, which I have to admit, isn't exactly what I'm looking for (I am 21 afterall) however, for any older ladies interested in investing this helps to soothe, smooth and firm the skin to hide any visible lines. Two pumps of this is more than enough and I most certainly have noticed a huge difference to my skin.
Evening - The Body Shop Overnight Serum and Oil £12:
Applying oil to my skin has never been appealing to me. I can imagine the horror to those of you who suffer a shiny complexion. However, it is so quick absorbing and non-gready that there really is no fear. This is 8 hours sleep in a bottle. My skin looks much fresher and plumper in the morning. I always notice a huge difference when I don't apply it! Skin looks recharged and well rested. I also love the dropper applicator, one is more than enough for me, maybe two if I was feeling adventurous. I rub into my fingers then onto the face and down the neck. This makes make-up application for the next day much easier. It applies more evenly and gives a gorgeous finish. The only problem is that it is slightly fragranced which some may not like. It doesn't break me out and I haven't personally had any problems with that but be sure to test it out first. I don't think I could recommend this serum anymore if I tried.
I now wouldn't go without a serum. They have completely changed the way my skin looks and I feel such a difference if they aren't applied. They are definitely an investment but these are two of the best products and prices out there!

Weekly Loves #10
Why Hello strangers! Sorry it has been a while but I've been having a bit of a blogging/ internet cleanse over the last few weeks. After an amazing holiday to Barcelona and the Benicassim Festival, I enjoyed having a complete internet free holiday that much I decided to extend it for a little while on returning home. Alongside that, I've also started a brand new job where I now in management and so comes a lot more responsibility. I wanted to give myself a few weeks to settle in and let my lovely little blog take a back seat. So, apologies for the break but I am back and ready to bring you lots of new fun posts!
Starting with my weekly favourites and this week brings some new loves to the table. First off comes from Mac and it is their Pro Concealer Palette in the shade Light (obviously). I've been meaning to buy this for ages but cannot stand the customer service (or lack of) in the Glasgow store and wasn't sure if it would be too dark. Thankfully, when in London I popped into the boutique and the staff couldn't have been any nicer. The palette is absolutely fantastic and has everything you need for correcting and concealing. I have been used the salmon colour with NW 15 for under the eyes. The yellow for highlighting and lately i've been playing with the darker shades to work as a contour - jury's still out on that one!
With all the changes going on in my life at the moment, sleeping has been pretty non-existent. From time to time I can suffer from insomnia (if you have you will know how horrific it is!) and when my Mum and Dad returned home from their jet-setting holidays they brought back a little lavender pillow parcel to help you drift off. I found this to be immensely helpful in the old shut-eye department and decided to hunt down a pillow spray. Now I know some may think it weird as this product is technically a toner for your skin however, the rose and lavender infused scent really helps me to drift off. Have only used this a handful of times but I have to say it has been making a difference. Just a few spritz on my pillow and job done!
Lastly, I have recently found myself getting right back into using primer. I am one of the fortunate people to have relatively normal skin. Primer for me was always an unnecessary step added to my make-up routine. After rummaging around my drawers I found this deluxe sample of The Porefessional and decided to really put it to the test. Turning my No.7 mirror to the 5X zoom (scary! eek!) I popped the product over my T-Zone and watched my pores disappear! This has now became a staple in the morning and makes my make-up not only sit better, but lasts all day!
Thank you all for sticking around! I know I've been gone a little while but I'm definitely back.

Weekly Loves #9
I was incredibly lucky with my days off last week. I managed to see the sunniest day of the week, Tuesday, and sat out the back catching some rays. Not for too long though as my pale skin can't take the heat! With the sun finally making an appearance, it was time to pull out some sun-protecting products.
I have been dying to try out Benefit's 'Dream Screen' since I was fortunate enough to get my hands on one. I haven't wanted to waste it though as my daily moisturiser and most of my day-wear foundations have SPF in them already, don't want to go onto overload! After reading many great reviews I was hoping this wouldn't let me down and it hasn't! SPF 45++ keeps you highly protected, a matte finish which makes it perfect for applying over or under makeup - Perfect for you oilier skinned ladies. . I love this especially as it doesn't have that horrible thick feeling most suncreams do. Oil and fragrance free, everyones a winner. Plus, the packaging is just the cutest, who wouldn't want to show this off!
I have been loving wearing the Estee Lauder Double Wear BB Cream for a lighter base in the hotter weather. Yes, I included this a few weeks ago, but I seriously can't get enough! I have averted applying powder on top this week and have been seriously loving the gorgeous glow it is giving my skin. SPF 30 which is perfect for my holidays - next week, eek! - and super lightweight on the skin. For anyone looking for a healthy glow this summer, you have got to try this!
My makeup has been incredibly understated this week, less is more and all that. So a nude, glossy lip has been my go-to look. Not a known lover of lipgloss, I am doing a complete 180 and using it most days. I have been wearing Mac 'On the Scene' for a natural pinky lip colour with some added shine! I love the vanilla scents of Mac products, one of my favourites, and also the packaging on these glosses is so beautiful. Lipglass might not be for everyone as it can be quite thick and sticky however, it does last on the lips. This was part of their limited edition Christmas sets, not sure if you would still be able to find them - sorry to be that guy!
Have you tried any of these products?

Benefit's They're Real Push-Up Liner | Review
Everyone and their Granny have been firing up posts about the brand new launch from Benefit Cosmetics. I decided to wait and give this product a fair trial and not give in to the hype. I received my very own liner and remover over a month ago now and, as a liquid wearer myself, was very excited to try this out. Benefit really know how to market products and they have thrown everything at this new launch. After the success of the original member of the family, They're Real Mascara, I could only imagine great things for it's sister.
First off, let's discuss the packaging. I love the fact that they have solved all us gel liner wearer's woes and finally created a travel friendly gel product. Then there is the Acu-Flex tip which is exclusive to the brand, the perfect applicator for those ladies who are not quite liner pros. This took me a good few times and some trial and error to work with, I am so used to a tiny nib that having a flexible tip was just awkward. If you are going to purchase this, be sure to have a practice! Now that i'm used to it, I'm loving the ease and how the product just glides on the lid. The tip hugs and pushes the lashes out of the road to get the gel right into the lashline, no more missed lines - horrah!
My only problem with the genius product? It claims to be smudge proof, however, having slightly oiler lids I do notice a transfer a few hours in. Nothing that can't be solved with a good eye primer and/or powder and really, I can live with that. The formula is thick and dries in pretty quickly so you do need to be a little quick, however it is such a fool-proof product that it's applied at the speed of light. This baby has shed an amazing ten minutes off my current make-up routine, now that is impressive.
The budge proof part? You are correct, it does not move. Even after a bath, now that really is some stubborn product! Benefit have finally solved the much noised complaint from the original mascara, and created the Remover to go alongside the family. An oil-free fragrance free remover that is ideal for those of us with sensitive eyes. You lather the balm into your lids and rinse with water. I think this is a fantastic remover, not what I was expecting at all. A whopping 50ml and a squeezey, travel friendly tube - no more unhygienic tubs.
Overall, I do really like the product and love the fact it is now practical to carry around a gel liner. The remover is also a winner and you could double it up as a cleanser all over due to its slightly thick, balm-like texture.
Will you be trying the They're Real Liner?

Weekly Loves #8
I love looking back over the previous week and rounding up my favourite products from the last seven days. My skin is very up and down at the moment so my base make-up menu has pretty much stayed the same, so I've been looking to other avenues to change it up.
Does anyone else's skin break out just before an event or holiday? It's like my face goes 'Yeah. you can have nice skin all the time. What's that? Your holidays in a few weeks? Here's a spot'. When this does happen I tend to up the anti with exfoliating. It took me a while to find the right exfoliator for my skin, using very harsh ones that stripped my face until I eventually found Clarins One-Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser. This is exactly as it says, a gentle exfoliator. The beads are so soft it hardly feels like an exfoliator at all. I also love the orange extract scent (any surprise?), so refreshing to use in the morning. This is only the travel size - brilliant size, I know - however, I'm beginning to run low so will be taking a quick trip to Clarins to purchase the full size.
I haven't worn a red lip in months. I wore one religiously for ages and then seemed to turn to lighter shades of coral and pink. However, over the last week I have been loving the Kate Moss for Rimmel in shade 22. A gorgeous pinky red colour that goes to a matte formula, whilst still adding a hint of shine. I do prefer a matte lip as I find them to last longer and this certainly does the trick. I only topped this up once after lunch and it lasted the full day. Must admit, I never tend to wear a lip liner, I just find it an unnecessary step and had no problems with bleeding. Think I'll need to have a rummage at some of the other shades in this range as I really enjoy the formula.
Last up for this weeks round up comes from Benefit Cosmetics and their much anticipated new release; They're Real Push Up Gel Liner. I will be popping up a full review of this during the week so don't want to go into too much detail but I have been loving this little pen. It does take a few goes of getting used to but after that, it whacks off around ten minutes of my makeup routine. Anything that can do that is a winner in my eyes.
Are you a lover of any of these products?

Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment | Review
At the grand old age of 21 trying to find the right eye cream probably seems ridiculous, right? In actual fact, eye creams are such an important step in your skin care routine. They help to prevent the first signs of aging in an area that is one of the first culprits! Let's be honest, what's the point in beginning to use one once the lines are there? I wanted a jump start on the old crow feet!
After researching and scrutinising every review from a fair few different creams, I finally settled on the Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatmen. Possibly the avocado scent that piped it for me - we all know how I love my Origins Drink-Up Intensive Mask! And let me tell you, the scent on this one won't let you down either! I wasn't specifically looking for an eye cream with anti-aging protection, more the hydrating side of things and this seems the best bet.
The formula is incredibly creamy and a pea sized amount is more than enough to do the job. I take the product on my ring fingers, gently massage it together and apply to the orbital bone. I felt a massive difference in the moisture under my eye and soothing aspect. Although, I wouldn't say this is specifically aimed at anti-aging, intense moisture is actually what prevents aging so for me this is perfect. I have no qualms on applying makeup above the cream, in fact, I find my concealer sits better and doesn't crease or sit into any lines after application. The texture takes a few goes at getting used to as it turns almost water-like when rubbed in but that just ensures the intense moisture for the eye area.
I bought the smaller tub which is 14ml which I have been using religiously, day and night, for almost two months now and I have hardly made a dent. If you loved it that much, there is a larger version however, I find this is the perfect size to cart around with you for any overnights or holidays.
Are you an eye cream wearer?

Neon Dresses
Dress // Delicious Dresses
Heading out to celebrate my best friend Kirsty's birthday at the weekend and I decided that with all of the gorgeous weather we have had over the week, it was time to bring out some brighter clothes.
Bold and bright colours are a mile away from my comfort zone but when I saw this dress, there was something about it that made me want it! I love the contrast of the pink and navy, with the neon green throughout. The puffed up sleeves are very eighties, an era which I love! Of course, this dress is also in my favourite style, the skater dress, where it flares out at the bottom - what's not to love?
I feel I am going to get lots of wear out of this dress in the summer. Very bright and lovely thin material, perfect for those (hopefully) hot summer nights.
In for a penny with this look, I kept in with the bright colours and transferred that to my make-up look too. Pulling out some forgotten pigments from models own, I went for a peachy/ pink fade on the lids which I thought really complimented my pale complexion. Originally, I went for a nude lip and found it made me look very washed out and pale, so instead I through on Mac '---' which instantly lightened my face! My hair is finally at a reasonable length where I can wear it down for longer than 10 minutes and not get annoyed. I added a slight wave to give it some texture - I don't suit clean cut!
Will you be experimenting with colour this summer?

Weekly Loves #7
Last week was very up and down for myself! Lots of highs and lots of lows and an incredibly busy weekend! I have changed up some of my makeup and have been loving the results.
First change came from my base. Lately, my skin has been pretty dry and most of my foundations have been sitting on top of any dry patches which looks horrendous. I was planning on buying something lighter for my holidays anyway, so I purchased the Estee Lauder BB Cream and I haven't looked back! The formula is so lightweight and gives a gorgeous dewy finish. I'm definitely more of a matte girl but I think in the summer a little glow never goes a miss - for you oiler girls out there this might not be a good pick! Although the formula is super lightweight on the skin, there is still enough coverage to disguise any pesky blemishes! I also love that the packaging in a tube, perfect for travelling.
Although I have been going for a lighter base, I still feel the need to add some powder on top. Is it just me or do you ever feel your makeup isn't complete without a dusting of powder? Anyway, as you all know I've been wearing my Smashbox powder (review here) religiously over the last however months but recently it's been clinging to those horrid drier areas. Damn you Scotland and you constant change in weather! I decided I needed to look for a new powder that would just glide over my skin and that's when I found Estee Lauder Double Wear Loose Powder. I am a massive fan of the Double Wear Foundation and on testing the powder it was instant love. It is so silky yet adds gorgeous coverage as well as some warmth to my not-so-tanned skin.
Last love of the week is quite unusual for me. I have been trying to experiment a little more with coloured eyeshadow, going into summer i'd like to wear some more colour on the lids. I found this Models Own Powder Eyeshadow in 'Peachy Keen' lying around my drawers (I'm sure I got this free in a goodie bag) and decided to dip my toe in the colourful water. This is such a gorgeous, summery shade and creates some really bright and fun make-up looks! The pigmentation is amazing and the shadows are very long-wearing. Will definitely be heading to my nearest stand to pick up some more!

Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation | Review

For months I have been 'humming' and 'hawing' over buying Laura Mercier foundation. I have heard so many amazing things about it and the fact Laura Mercier is known for her pale shades made it all that more appealing. My only hesitation? The hefty £34 price tag. A lot of money to fork out if I hated it or it didn't work for my skin. After a lot of hassle from House of Fraser, long story, I eventually ended up with a gift card and decided why not purchase something I've been wanting forever? Voila! Laura Mercier was purchased.
First off, shade. As we know, I am always the lightest in everything - the amount of times counter assistants have tried to make me darker is unbelievable. I swatched 'Rose Ivory' and 'Cream Ivory' and both were way too dark so I finally settled on, surprise surprise, the lightest available 'Soft Ivory'. This seems to be pretty spot on against my skin. I would recommend for anyone who is not entirely sure or confident on picking your own shades to definitely get a consultation, a bit much money to waste on the wrong colour. 'Soft Ivory' comes out of the tube almost white but blends into the perfect shade and really compliments the undertones of your skin. Due to the formula being so creamy, fingers really aren't this foundations friend so opt for a brush instead.
In ways, I can see why people compare it to Estee Lauder's Double Wear. Full coverage, long lasting and beautiful finish. However, Double Wear leaves my skin feeling incredibly dry the next day with it's matte finish, this formula allows my skin to breathe and although finishes matte (my favourite) there is still a hint of a healthy glow coming through. The product comes in a 35ml tube which takes a few times to get used to, one thing I would say? A little really does go a long way and a pea sized amount is more than enough for a thin veil over the skin. Plus the nozzle at the end really does allow you to squeeze the right amount, no waste here!
For those of you with oily skin, the thick creamy formula may not be the best step forward. Definitely more suited for the dryer complexions out there! Overall, I have been loving this foundation of late, espcially for nights out and/or special occasions. It is super model skin in a tube and in my opinion well worth the money.

After a mad dash home from our Gretna overnight, Craig and I were heading to one of his friends wedding receptions - we really did need a week off with all the madness! We were only going to the evening reception, as we already had our overnight booked before the invitations came out but to be honest we were pretty glad. We have been to so many weddings in the last year, full day events, it was quite nice to be popping along in the evening.
Craig bought me these beautiful Kurt Geiger shoe boots with are a gorgeous nude ankle boot with a neon pink sol. They are absolutely stunning! I originally tried on the black version with the neon yellow sole months ago and didn't like them on (I really need to realise neon and I are not friends). I love nude shoes - i'm sure you will have all guessed by now - so the pop of pink colour makes a nice change!
Knowing I wanted to wear these shoes, I grabbed this beautiful grey sequin dress from French Connection out the old cupboard. Now I am not a pink girl, at all, but something about this dress caught my attention! It is a super flattering fit, the material is light and comfortable, I love the tie at the waste to which I pull over some material to create a hanging effect. I'm a huge fan of FCUK dresses and always find the heavier the dress, the better it sits.
To finish off the look I grabbed my white Zara blazer to keep the outfit light and summery, perfect for a Summer wedding!
Let me know what you think!

Weekly Loves #6
Oh Scotland, you certainly know how to tease us with your wicked weather ways. You are immensely humid, yet you are dull and dark. How do we dress appropriately? How do we choose which products to stick on our faces?! Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about the heat, but it would be lovely if the sunshine would join the warm atmosphere! Anyway, onto this weeks favourite products;
Urban Decay Naked Skin Finish Foundation has to be one of, if not my favourite, daytime foundation. The perfect colour match - I mean, spot on! Such a lightweight formula with a beautiful, medium coverage which is buildable. I love applying this to my face in the morning, it gives a gorgeous flawless complexion, what's not to love? Also, the packaging is just so on point! Urban are known for their palettes and eyeshadows but I would seriously recommend getting yourself to your nearest counter and browsing around the base products. I will pop up a full review at some point!
Next up, I have been loving Estee Lauder's Double Wear Concealer. This bad boy covers everything - yes, that's right, everything! Dark circles be gone! Spots? What spots! Redness? Goodbye! I have the compact as opposed to the wand version as I find it easier to cart around with me. Warm a little with the fingers and apply to the areas needing it the most - usually the old under eyes! I would compare this to the Nars Creamy Concealer for it's medium to full coverage, still very creamy for the under eye area as well, so it doesn't feel drying.
Working on a make-up counter involves lots of standing throughout the day, when I say lots of standing I mean, never getting to sit down! My heels take the full force of this. Lately I have been noticing some flaking and harder skin (oh, how lovely?) around this area, something I've never suffered from before, and found Soap and Glory Heel Genius lurking around my stash. This super moisturising cream gets massaged into the feet every night, then pop on a pair of cotton sockies and leave the cream to work it's magic! Plus, for a foot cream it smells absolutely divine - gets rid of those honking tootsies. For any hard skin sufferers this one will be your best friend.
That is this week's round up. Have you spotted any of your own favourites here?
