Jo Malone Day

Jo Malone isn't exactly cheap. It's not a store I would pop into on a lunch break just to 'pick something up'. Absolutely not. It is an experience and choosing a fragrance, whether that be in candle, Cologne, diffuser or body lotion form, is easier said than done. Jo Malone does luxury like no other.

Recently, my Mum and I took a trip to Jo Malone in Frasers as we got some products for Christmas and were invited back for a free hand and arm massage. I already own one fragrance, Pomegranate Noir, and I do feel like a princess when I wear it. Mum decided on this to be her fragrance of choice for her massage as she loved the scent too - two peas! Using the shower gel/ hand wash then applying body lotion and finally fragrance on top, we were told all the ways to use each product, how they were made and which scents suited. You can also mix fragrances to create your own bespoke scent - something more individual.

I decided to try something a little different and was looking for more of a day fragrance, as beautiful as Pomegranate Noir is, it can be a little overpowering for day to day wear. I was given three cards, each sprayed with scents, and had to put them in order or preference. I had grapefruit as third (my mum preferred this), Basil and Lime which was gorgeous and fresh but my first choice was Wood Sage and Sea Salt - the newest of all the colognes. It is absolutely beautiful! So fresh and much more subtle for daytime wear than Pomegranate Noir!

It was such a lovely experience getting to learn all about the products and ingredients used in them. I am such a sucker for knowing ingredients and their benefits! For anyone looking for a relaxing day out then have a look into the hand and arm massages.

To me, Jo Malone is something special. Whether you are looking to treat yourself or for a gift for someone special, there is something there for everyone.

What's your favourite Jo Malone scent?

Lifestyle: All-in-One Spicy Pork and Chorizo

One of my absolute favourite things to make is this all-in-one spicy pork and chorizo recipe! Not only is it easy enough to fire everything into the one pan but it is so flavoursome! If you are looking for something healthy but won't take too long then keep reading.

What You Will Need:

Olive Oil/ Fry Light
Pork Tenderloin (cut into strips)
Chorizo Sausage (sliced into slices)
1 Medium Onion (Cut into wedges)
2 Garlic Cloves (Sliced)
Red and Yellow Pepper (can be any colour of peppers really, these are my favourite)
1 teaspoon Ground Cumin
1 teaspoon Ground Coriander
1/2 Cayenne Pepper
150g Long-grain Rice
750g Chicken Stock
Salt and Pepper

Heat the Oil or Fry Light (healthier option) in the pan, add in the onion and heat until softened. Season the pork with salt and pepper and add to the pan with the onion until lightly browned. Then add the chorizo, peppers, garlic and fry all together. Sprinkle over the spices, add the rice and then the stock. Leave to cook until all of the stock has been absorbed, be sure to check the pork and rice are tender then tuck in!

When I said this was the easiest recipe in the world, I really wasn't kidding! It is one of my favourite dishes (as well as my Dad's) and fills everyone up! Let me know if you decide to cook this.

Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Review

Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation £31 (here)

If I was told I could only have one foundation in my collection to do me for the rest of my life it would, hands down, no questions asked, be Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation. I have, no word of a lie, went through about eight bottles of this stuff and every time I always question myself to why I ever left it in the first place?

Bobbi Brown was my first high end brand so I guess there it holds a special part in my heart. The first time I used it was when I was around sixteen, I was roped into helping a friend at a wedding show catwalk (child bride?) and the artist was from Bobbi Brown. Most of, if not all, of her kit was Bobbi Brown and so my love affair began. A week or so later I popped into town with my Mum and Dad, got matched up - not that it's hard, I'm always Alabaster! - and ended up leaving with my first ever high end (and properly matched) foundation and blusher. Really my parents encouraged this unhealthy, expensive hobby!

From then on I've been through copious bottles of the stuff and here's why I keep coming back for more. The formula is so lightweight and there is never any sign of cakiness. For those among us who love a full coverage then I would suggest looking elsewhere, but for anyone who loves a good tinted moisturiser or sheer to medium coverage then get yourself along to your nearest counter. A gorgeous dewy finish with a comfortable feel on the skin. When my skin began to react to the colder, harsher weather I struggled to find anything that didn't cling to my skin. Hidden within my stash I pulled out this old favourite, the loyal one that is always there but constantly gets overlooked and bang! I fell hook, line and sinker back in love.

Easy to blend and containing an SPF 15 it is the perfect foundation for day to day wear. Also, any brides out there looking for a gorgeous, natural finish on their big day, I would highly recommend going for a trial. Coming in a vast range of twelve different shades there is certainly something in there for anyone. This is suitable for anyone with dehydrated, dry and/or normal skin types this will be ideal! For those oilier types I'm not sure this dewy finish would be right for you.

Are you a lover of Bobbi Brown?
