Friday Fabu-List: Autumn/Winter Coats

I'm sure you will all have noticed the immediate drop in temperature over the past week or so. Personally I love it! Winter is my favourite time of year - possibly a little biased considering my birthday is Boxing Day, however I love when the Christmas lights are switched on and trees are up and as much as most people may hate me for saying this I love the snow. It may not be practical but it makes everything super pretty! I have been racking through all of the stores looking for my perfect winter coat however there are so many different styles to choose from this year I may need to invest in not just one, but two!

The Parka

A wardrobe style staple. The Parka has been around for years and a very popular choice for most in the autumn/ winter months. I would say this style is most suited to casual day wear and are most commonly found in a khaki green colour with a fur trimmed hood. I love this River Island number as it also incorporates another of the coat styles at the top with it's quilted leather sleeves.

Primark £25
The Leather Sleeve

This is a brand new trend sweeping the style stakes this season and I have spotted a couple of crackers about town! I am actually going to grab this Primark number as I think it is absolutely gorgeous. I tried it on the other day in-store and thought it was a great fit and brilliant value for money. You can find leather sleeves on all different styles, as you can see above; trench, wool, bomber. You will have no problem finding this style of coat.

The Leather Jacket

The Leather Jacket is an investment piece. I wear mine practically all year round and even though some can be pretty pricey i.e the topshop number above, I feel the money is justified by how long they last and how wearable they are. You can style them with pretty much anything whether you are toughening up a dress or casual with a pair on jeans. Perfect for a day-to-night look. Why not change up the usual black leather and go for this seasons in-colour cobalt!

The Faux Fur Coat

Faux Fur coats never go out of style and are always huge at this time of year. You can look super chic teaming this over a glitzy number for a night out or the new shorter length for a day-time look thrown over your over-sized knits and jeans. Gorgeous! Love faux fur coats - not real fur!

The Wool Coat

If you are looking for a dressed coat for a 9 to 5 number or a more sophistocated look for winter then this is the style for you! I love this Etsy number! Grey is brilliant for brightening up your outfit as opposed to wearing a black number! One of my favourite style of coats and super warm too! Living in Scotland we need all the heat we can get!

Hope you like this post!
