I have been pretty MIA this last week and lacking in my blog posts. I have been unbelievably busy with work and as of this week I am on full time for the Christmas season ahead. Bare with me, I am trying my best!
This weekend I had an absolute disaster with hair dye! (I'm sure some of you lovely readers have been there too!) I have been choking to dip dye my hair for ages as I have always loved the trend. Deciding to be brave, I picked up an ombre kit in work and booked my hairdressers appointment for the following day before I had the chance to talk myself out of it. Unfortunately my hair was more dye than dip and the big ring around my head looked more like I had very dark roots growing in. Having a 10-6 shift the following day and a wedding the day after the panic sunk in! Being told to buy a 'honey blonde' shade to put all over my head, I was fortunate my hairdresser was on hand to help out. On applying the shade my hair turned a putrid lucozade orange/ yellow shade - took all my strength not to cry!
My Mum then found a 'frosted blonde' shade in the cupboard which was quickly applied to my head only to discover this brought out a darker orange shade - my stress levels were beginning to reach a whole new level!
Luckily my lovely hairdresser had the keys to the store and she jumped up to pick up her own shades and we eventually got back to my original hair colour! Only benefit to all the dying is that my hair is now super soft and shiny!! So come Sunday and the day of the wedding my hair was thankfully sorted!

We have had lots of family weddings this year - none ever and then 4 at once! I have worn long maxi dresses to each so far and decided I would prefer a shorter length or this one. Trying to find a dress was an absolute nightmare as there isn't much party wear on the high street just now. In my final attempt at finding something I found this gorgeous number in Zara. Also available in Black and an electric Blue but I loved this deep green shade. The material was very thick which proved problematic at time as it was pretty warm in the venue however very comfortable to wear.
I opted for statement eyes and a nude lip for the day. I usually go for a statement lip but wanted the dress to do the talking. Having thrown my hair into an up-do I played around with gold and black/brown shades to give a smokey eye. Lined my waterline with black liner too which is very unusual for myself.
Never dye your hair an unusual colour two days before a big event. Rookie mistake and not recommended. Thankfully I was able to get my fixed pretty sharp and I can assure you I won't be near another bottle of dye....for a while anyway!
Hope you like this look!
