Urban Decay Autumn/Winter Preview

I recently attended the Urban Decay Autumn/Winter Preview held at Debenhams Glasgow to promote their brand new range! Was so excited to go especially after hearing they were going to be doing a make-up lesson class as well. Having started training at my new job that week I went sprinting down Buchanan Street to make it on time! Thankfully myself and Fiona (my brother's lovely girlfriend - who actually told me about the event) made it in the nick of time!

The make-up lesson was help out in the middle of St Enoch's Centre which I wasn't exactly thrilled about. With people paying tickets for the event it wasn't really fair to put it in a public place where lots of passers by got to stand and watch. The problem with the make-up lesson was that the demonstrator didn't have a microphone and with the noise of the centre (and also the coldness as the air conditioning was blasting away) I couldn't hear a word she said! Which was completely disappointing. When she faced the front it was a little easier if you strained and then she would turn her back to continue the application of make-up and you wouldn't be able to hear a word once again. Points off.

I did love the fact that all of the girls from the counter put in so much effort with their outfits and their make-up looks, they all looked amazing! Really rocked it up with big dark eyes. A little too dark for myself to rock, I tend to go for a brown smokey eye as I'm extremely pale but they all looked brill!

I went a little swatch daft whilst I was there - checking pigmentation of all different products

After the lesson we got to go to the counter and purchase any items that tickled your fancy. Trying to get into look at the products was a nightmare as there were so many ladies rushing about mad - they obviously knew exactly what they were after whereas Fiona and I were just wanting a browse and see what we fancied. We decided to keep out the road and wait until the majority of the madness had died down and started getting overly excited at all the bright, shiny things! I spotted a very light foundation which they had been discussing during the lesson (point in which the girl was facing the front so I could faintly hear) and she said that Urban is mostly known for it's eye palettes etc which is true. She said it was a shame as the face products were absolutely amazing - I was thinking all this time that Urban didn't cater for the extremely pale among us, oh how wrong I was!

I got one of the assistants to pop the foundation on so that I could see if it was any good and it was a perfect match for my skin! This never happens for me. I love the matte finish of it, I like to have make-up looking really natural. Especially on my face. It also came in at a reasonable price considering what I usually pay for fashion brand foundations.

Overall, I had a really great girly night viewing the new season, the staff were all lovely and eager to help! The only disappointing part was again the lack of volume in the make-up lesson but something that can be easily fixed! I cannot wait to start using my new products (especially vice 2).

Hope you like this review!
