I usually can't wait to type up my monthly Glossybox review to share with you all the amazing products I receive from my beloved subscription. Unfortunately this month I come to you baring bad news - my Glossybox was far from it's usual amazing-ness and left me feeling, quite frankly, bored.
I saw that this month's box was named 'Dark Romance' and I couldn't have been more excited. I love Autumn/ Winter time and anyone who is a loyal reader will know by now that it is my favourite season. I have been loving the berry lips, tartan, leather trends - all the dark seasonal colours and couldn't wait to see what goodies awaited me. Sadly what waited for me was nothing short of disappointing.
MeMeMe Cherub's Blush - Cheek and Lip Tint
A clear rip off of Benefit's Benetint however this product is probably the only one that I may actually consider using. The stain seems reasonable - not sure on its staying power yet but I will report back. My only issue (apart from the clear copy) is the smell as it reminds me of talcum powder and that is just not okay!
Katy Perry Killer Queen Fragrance
Starting to get a little sick of these perfume samples. Had one each month and whilst it's nice to be able to have a whiff of the new products this is just a waste each month when something more exciting could be included. The fragrance itself is actually quite nice - very fruity which isn't to really to my taste but two skooshes of the sample and its done.
Monu Illuminating Primer
I do enjoy my primers so I will give this a bash and I know that Monu are quite a well regarded brand but again - not quite what I was expecting/ hoping to find in the 'Dark Romance' box.
Premae Multi-Vitamin Smoothie Serum
Whilst I am a big lover of skin care regimes and looking after myself the packaging of this product is horrendous and if I saw it on a shelf in Boots (if I even noticed it) I certainly wouldn't be tempted to try it. Judge a book by it's cover and all that I know! This has to be used every morning and night and is supposed to keep skin matte and oil free as well as hydrated - after I have used this for a few days I will report back on any changes.
Eva Cosmetics - Mystic Diamond Argonoil
Last item of this month's box is a sample of Argan Oil. I've heard great things about Moroccan Oil but have never heard of this particular brand. Interested to see if it lives up to it's rival!
So there you have it! Nothing dark or even slightly romantic about this box. Have to say that if next month's box is as rubbish as this then Glossybox may be loosing a subscription and it would be a shame as I have really enjoyed my other boxes. Here's hoping for a better November.
