It seems to be a craze amongst bloggers to do a review at the end of each month of your favourite products you have been using throughout. Decided to jump on this bandwagon, more so for the fact that I have been using a few new products this month and would like to review them for you all and let you know how I got on. Just remember that we are all different and what works for me may not work for you and vice versa. No hate! These are just my own personal opinions.
I have never used toner before in my life as I have always been pretty lucky with my skin. Don't have any problems and it's just generally normal - not oily, not dry. I'm saying that now and by next week everything will go wrong! Whilst I was in Boots a few weeks back I decided to try this out and I have to say I am fairly impressed. I use it every night and every day before I apply make-up and I can definitely feel a difference. It gives my skin a lovely fresh feeling after use and I really like the smell of it - we all know how important the smell of products are, it can honestly put me off using something if it stinks! I love that it's 2 in 1 as well with the cleanser, giving a really clean feel to your skin. Highly recommend this and it's so cheap, absolute steal!
My second favourite of the month (these aren't actually in any particular order) is Porefessional by Benefit. I bought the 'Primping with the Stars' gift set because it had lots of products that I have been dying to try and I didn't want to fork out the money on the full products in case I wasn't a fan, so what better way to try them out than in the miniatures. I am super impressed with this! Now I have used all different types of primers from high to low end; smashbox, revlon etc and this is by far the best on the market. I can see the effects as soon as it is applied hiding my pores and sinking straight into my skin. When I originally went to use it, it came out in a dark colour from the tube and I thought oh god this is going to be too dark for my skin but it is translucent on application.
I decided to test drive it on a night out clubbing with friends to see if any make-up strayed in the heat and under lights but my make-up never budged at all! Really impressed with this product - If you are looking for a good primer to keep your make-up in tact then this is for you!
I have never bought into these hair products that make your hair shinier and silkier because I have tried that many and have found no difference at all. It always turns into a waste of money. However, in saying that, I decided to give Lee Stafford's Shine Mist a go as he is obviously a well regarded name in the hair world! I do like this product. I didn't really notice much the first few times I used it but I can see it now. If you apply it to towel dried hair and then again on each section as you apply heat to it you will begin to see a difference! It also has a really nice smell! Plus points! Don't know if it is worth the £5.99 but it's certainly better than any of the other mists I have tried.
I wrote a review about this mascara in one of my posts during the month saying how much I loved this product and this still hasn't changed! It really fans out the lashes. Although it doesn't have as large a brush (which I really love in mascaras) it really does the trick! and actually, I think I prefer the straight and thin wand on this as it really works amazingly! I got mine in a bargain £3.50 out of Morrisons - not sure if this deal is still on but seriously get yourself this mascara! You will thank me later. Even if you can't find it for the cheaper price I would say it is definitely worth the full RRP.
I can't find the link to this particular body butter online but I am sure it is Morrison's own Cocoa and Shea Body Butter. I absolutely love the smell of this! It makes you smell and feel amazing after use. I throw it on after having a shower or bath and I just love it! I smelled all of them before buying and honestly, wasn't a fan of any bar this Cocoa and Shea. Massive tub you get as well and i'm sure it was only £1.99 so a great buy!
Earlier this month I was out raking through the foundation reviews and shelves of all the drug stores to try and find a flawless finish foundation that wasn't too ridiculously priced and went perfectly with my skin tone - which, if any of my lovely readers are like me and were blessed with porcelain skin, will know how hard it is to find a shade on the high street! However, I finally came across one that I love! No.7 Stay Perfect foundation in Calico. The best thing about this product is that is is SPF 15, I am a huge fan of face products with SPF, being pale is hard you know! This gives great coverage and a beautiful flawless finish! It doesn't even feel as though I am wearing any make-up as it has such a lightweight feel. I hate to feel caked in make-up as it makes my face feel oily. This is a great hydrating base and would highly recommend for anyone looking for a flawless look!
That's it for my August favourites! I hope you like my reviews and if you decide to go a try something I have mentioned above then let me know!
