Date Night

Top // Skirt: Missguided
Necklace: Primark
Shoes: New Look
Nail polish: Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Blue Grape 318

Last night was my first Saturday off in a long time and I spent it having date night with Craig. Wanted to get dressed up and have a proper night out and was really nice to spend some time together. I am really loving blue just now whether it's bright and bold or understated. Went for this long sleeved navy top from Missguided (here) which is one of the most comfortable fabrics in the world! I originally bought it in a cream colour and loved it that much I went back and bought it in the navy - they are very large though and I had to buy this one in a smaller size to the original one. I will just wear the cream one as a baggy over-sized top.

I do have a hilarious story to share with you all and I wasn't going to because it is slightly embarrassing on my behalf but Craig said it was too funny not to. So we got to the restaurant (Mitchell's in Curmunnock - will go into detail after) and got seated, ordered our drinks etc when I started playing with my necklace and I could feel something scratching me - looked down to realise I had put my top on back to front! (What an idiot) Quickly ran to the toilet to change my top round. Now to be fair, the neckline is the same the full way around so easy mistake to make!

Anyway...My skirt is another Missguided number (here) which I love! I am all about this style at the moment, the crossover skirts and this is shaped quite like the skort style that has been everywhere of late. Went for a white number as I have hardly any white items in my wardrobe and monochrome is a massive and timeless trend. Can never have enough black and white!

I was originally wearing my white pointed heels however they have a very high heel and are also sling backs which aren't my favourite style of shoe. The sling on them is quite low and slips off and I thought that I would rather be able to walk in my shoes than keep walking out of them so threw on my nude peep toes.

To bring some bright colour to the outfit I painted my nails with one of my favourite nail polishes cobalt blue (colour of the season) to bring some pop to the outfit! I am a massive Barry M fan and think they have some of the best looking and top quality nail polishes available on the high street.

We were recommended Mitchell's Restaurant in Carmunnock and decided to pop along and check it out. When you first arrive it looks like a quaint little cottage but inside it has a very modern vibe. Nice and busy - not too loud, not too quiet, just the right balance for the place. I opted for the soup as a starter - carrot and sweet potato which was absolutely delicious and for my main I went for supreme of chicken with black pudding and mash in a peppercorn sauce. Both absolutely amazing! The service was quick (which was surprising as it was busy) and friendly. You can't beat service with a smile. Would definitely recommend if anyone is looking for somewhere a little different.

Hope you like this post!
